Nara

Nara is a tribe of people that remain hidden from the world. The frozen northern half of their island is too dangerous to traverse and the eastern coasts are littered with whirlpools and deadly beasts. The southern area Nara itself is found in is quite warm and comfortable though.

Nara is a nation that has no use for magic. They instead, with the help of a obalisk from the time of the ancients, create soulbonds with beasts native to their island and use their abilities to thrive. While Naraians are separated from the world at large and this puts them being the curve on technology, the things they can do with aid from their monster companions more than make up for it.

Naraians live simple lives in a number of simple villages. They are hunters and gatherers, but no less intelligent than those from other nations. They simply do not wish for more than the harmony they have. They are excellent warriors, as one must defeat a monster before it can be soulbound.

Naraians are watched over by an ancient beast that lives in the frozen mountains to the north. This Arcanum is revered and respected by the Naraian people. Long ago, a foolish person tried to bind this same beast, and it laid waste to their civilization.
