The Ancients also known as “The Cetra” to some are an ancient race from before the great beasts attack. It's believed they created the gates that the people of Uru rely on, but what caused their civilization to collapse is completely unknown. Some believe they never left, while others believe that they were turned into the monsters that roam the land of Uru.

When the party found a Lost Gate outside of Bean City, M.R., they also found a Monument to Adda there. This monument of the ancient Gaddish people claims that the Cetra Kingdom ruled over Uru as tyrants and oppressors.
